A Global Call to Reclaim Ancient Wisdom: Sweden Leads the Charge — Australia Must Lead by Example

Fellow global citizens, Elders, youth, migrants, and custodians of ancient lands…

The erosion of timeless wisdom accelerates. Unfiltered social media floods young minds with comparison, division, and distraction, drowning out the quiet voices of ancestors. Languages fade, stories fall silent, and the deep knowing of our interconnectedness — with Country, kin, and the Divine Light within — slips away.

Migration brings hope but often without the sacred pause: to honor the original custodians, learn their rhythms, and root ourselves respectfully in new soil. This rootlessness fuels the stress, disconnection, and struggle gripping humanity today.

Sweden Leads With Courage

From Autumn 2026, Sweden will implement a nationwide mobile phone ban in compulsory schools (ages 6–16) and after-school programs. Students will hand in devices at the beginning of the day and retrieve them only at dismissal — no phones during lessons, breaks, or care.

Sweden is also prioritizing physical books, handwriting, outdoor play, and staffed libraries after recognizing declining focus, reading comprehension, and youth mental health concerns.

This is not retreat — it is wisdom in action.

Australia’s Deeper Responsibility

Australia is home to over 60,000 years of unbroken Aboriginal wisdom — the world’s oldest continuous living culture.

Connection to Country as living kin. Kinship systems weaving strong community. Respect as guiding principle. Storytelling keeping the Dreamtime alive.

Yet digital noise erodes language revitalization and cultural transmission. Migration continues. We thrive only when we bow in gratitude, learn from Aboriginal Elders, and integrate timeless truths into our shared national story.

Chheila.com — The Bridge

Chheila — Connective Helping Hands Entering In Life Awareness — is a free, safe, peer-to-peer platform designed especially for Australian Aboriginal communities, beginning in Alice Springs.

Through Chheila:
• Young people revive languages through audio storytelling
• Share heritage safely and anonymously
• Support youth mental health
• Celebrate unique identities

As a Sikh Australian, I invite Sikh communities nationwide to exchange Gurbaani wisdom:

ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ
(Recognize your divine origin.)

Let this wisdom meet Aboriginal teachings of Country and kinship. Mutual learning. True reconciliation. Enriched multiculturalism.

Let Australia Lead By Example

Imagine Australia going further than Sweden:
• Protect childhood presence
• Integrate Aboriginal languages into education
• Prioritize nature-based learning
• Amplify ancient wisdom digitally — without digital domination

Sweden shows how to reclaim focus from screens. Australia can show how to reclaim roots from ancient foundations.

The stress of our age stems from forgotten origins. The cure lies in remembering them — respectfully, collaboratively, urgently.

Join us on Chheila.com. Connect helping hands. Enter life awareness.
